Originally born from increasingly ridiculous experimental jam projects and an ever growing urge to croon about tramps The Precious Mings slunk into proper view with a debut gig at the legendary Cube cinema in Bristol. The band's majestic performance gained recognition not least from other musicians who would gladly be invited to join in and play at the gigs. Since that moment an ever changing line up of band members evolved (from a four piece to fifteen piece) all held together by Boris' skewed vision taking in electro, lounge, rockabilly, library music and low grade noise.
In 2007 Boris started recording this debut album which included many of the musicians from the experimental gigs and was produced by fellow Chikinki, Steve Bond. The band were swiftly snapped up by Weekender records and the debut album "Every time I sell a record a kitten dies" was unleashed in 2008. A European tour followed with the release of the single "play with me" which received solid airplay especially in Germany. The Bristolian musical wizard also gained a reputation at this time as an in-demand session musician, adding his touch to many recordings and working with some unlikely artists such as the bard of Stoke on Trent himself, Robbie Williams! In 2012 The Precious Mings played some club and festival gigs to test out new material notably a quite electric performance in front of 3000 soaked ravers at the German Fusion Festival and a sweaty packed night at Berlin's premier club, RitterButske. A new album will be unleashed very soon...
